Qld: Cairns police identify woman whose remains found in bush

CAIRNS, Feb 23 AAP - The son of a Japanese woman whose remains were found earlier this
month in bushland near Cairns today told police his mother was an independent woman who
did her own thing.

Police identified the 70-year-old woman at the weekend after State Emergency Service
(SES) volunteers found her handbag and wallet containing a passport and other documents.

On February 11, a human thigh bone was found by a bushwalker in the Kuranda State Forest,
