SA: Dead trees needed to revive river system

Scientists in Adelaide say tyres and old car bodies should be placed in Australia's
waterways -- ironically, to revive the ailing river system.

Researchers with the Cooperative Research Centre for Catchment Hydrology say the
150-year-old practice of removing dead trees from rivers has led to erosion and the death of
some species of aquatic animals.
